In this video, we show how to replace the Keyboard in an XPS 14 DA14260. Before working inside your system, review all safety guidelines to protect the system and ensure your personal safety. For full safety information, view the Service Manual at: Dell.com/Support. Before you begin, remove the Palmrest and Keyboard Assembly.
On the assembly, open the two lectures and disconnect the two cables from the MCU board. Remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the palm rest assembly. Partially peel off the mylar tape holding the two cables, lifted up slightly, thread the cables through the slot, now flip it over.
Lift the keyboard away. To install the keyboard, insert a keyboard at an angle into the palm rest, now lift it out slightly. and you thread your MCU cables through this slot, flip the assembly over and adhere the tape back. Replace the screws to secure the keyboard to the palmrest assembly Now connect the two MCU cables. For more information or support, visit: Dell.com/Support.
