This is a short video just to demonstrate how quick and easy it is to install the Wise Management suite. Before we get started with the actual installation. Here's a few notes about the install. Of course, today we're going to demonstrate an on premise installation of the Wise Management suite.
If you were going to utilize the cloud based implementation of Wise Management suite, there would be no install required. Uh It's hosted in a virtual machine and I really just point this out uh that it's on a optiPlex to demonstrate that I, you don't necessarily have to have super high end machines to install wise management suite.
In this case, I'm using a five plus year old optiplex that I've re provisioned into an ESX I server. Uh We're using windows server. Uh 2016, it's a brand new install. Um I did join the server to the domain and I'm logged in as an administrator. Um And then I did turn off the IE enhanced security.
Um This just prevents some warning kind of nag messages during the install. Um I'm doing a basic wise management suite install. Um And you'll notice at the end um I don't, I do not choose the options to add certificates or to configure the SMTP server for email alerts. Um, you will see that the install completes in less than four minutes and then I'm actually logged in and ready to manage clients in less than five.
Now, let's begin the installation of the Wise Management suite. Uh, as I get started, you'll notice I've actually started a clock in the top. Right. So we can time this uh as we go through the install. So I'm gonna go ahead and the first screen click next and we're gonna do a typical install.
I'm going to enter uh database credentials here. So make sure you remember this password and then of course administrator uh credentials and the email address. Uh and then the password provided is what you will actually use to log into the Wise Management Suite console uh for the first time.
Uh once we've answered these few questions um and clicked on next, except in the end, most of the vault. Um You'll notice now I'm actually speeding up uh the installation. So even though this installation is uh less than uh five minutes, watching three minutes of an installer could get uh pretty boring.
So you'll notice that the clock has actually sped up and in just a moment, we'll have completed the installation. So at this point uh under four minutes, um we've completed the install and now I'm gonna actually just launch the console for the first time. And again, I have to select a few things.
We're gonna go with the standard license and we're gonna actually then skip to add the certificates and skip the configuration of the email alerts. So at this point, I'll go ahead and sign into the console, uh, use those same credentials I specified during the log in.
And now here, I'll go ahead and stop the clock and you'll see that, um, four minutes and 39 seconds. Um, I've got my wise management suite console installed and ready to manage my wise thin clients.
