In this video, we demonstrate how to replace the memory in an Inspiron or Vostro 3030 Desktop Before you begin, create a recovery drive and back up all data. Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the computer. Turn off your computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals.
To begin, loosen the screws that secure the left-side cover to the chassis. Holding the tab on the cover, slide and remove it from the chassis. Place the computer horizontally. To remove the memory module, pull down the securing clips on each end of the memory-module slot to release it. Then, grasp the module from the middle and remove it from the slot.
To install the memory module, align the notch on the module with the tab on the slot. Then, press down until it snaps into place and the securing clips lock. Place the computer vertically.
