In this video, we demonstrate how to replace the Wireless Card in an Inspiron or Vostro 3030 Desktop Before you begin, create a recovery drive and back up all data. Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the computer. Turn off your computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals.
To begin, loosen the screws that secure the left-side cover to the chassis. Holding the tab on the cover, slide and remove it from the chassis. Place the computer horizontally. Remove the screw that secures the wireless card to the system board. Then, slide and lift the wireless-card bracket off the card. Next, disconnect the antenna cables from the connectors on the card.Then, slide and remove the card at an angle from the slot.
To install the wireless card, connect the antenna cables to connectors on the card. Then, slide and place the bracket on the card. Next, align the notch on the card with the tab on the wireless-card slot. Then, slide it in at an angle into its slot. Next, replace the screw to secure it in place. Place the computer vertically.
