Enables or disables clearing data on the NVDIMM-N. If set to Enable, all data on the NVDIMM-N is lost. This option is used to remove data on the NVDIMM-N, repurpose your system. This option is set to Disable by default.
Hi there. In this video will cover accessing the Sanitize NVDIMM settings within the PowerEdge bios to begin access the virtual console via the IDRAC. Click the power button and then click on reset system. Warm boot wait for the system to boot and the boot options to be seen on screen. Press F two on the keyboard to access the system set up. Enter your password if prompted.
The default is EMC BIO all in lower case from the main menu select system bios. Next click on memory settings in memory settings scroll down and select persistent memory. If you want to sanitize all NVDIMMs click enabled next to sanitize all NVDIMMs to sanitize NVDIMMs individually click on NVD in persistent memory. Find the envy dim memory location that you want to sanitize. Click on enabled next to sanitize all NVDIMM.
The envy dim will be sanitized once changes are saved after the next reboot click back and then finish on the final screen. Click yes to save the changes click on. OK to finish and then yes to reboot the system the system will now reboot. If the system powers off.
Click power then power on system then yes the system will now test and sanitize the NVDIMM as it's restarting. Once the sanitizer is complete the system will automatically disable the settings in the bios and that's it.
