In this video, we show how to replace the system board. The actions in the following video should be performed by a Dell certified technician. Before working inside your computer, review all safety guidelines to protect the computer and ensure your personal safety.

For full safety information, view the Service Manual at: Dell.com/Support Your computer may look different from the one in this video. However, the service procedure is the same. Before you begin, remove the base cover, the battery, SSD, wireless card, fan, and the heat sink.

To remove the system board, remove the two screws securing the display bracket. Removed the bracket. And disconnect the display cable. Now remove the screws securing the hinge. And flip the hinge up. Now flip up the tape on the I/O board cable. Flip the latch up and disconnect the cable.

Now flip up the latch for the touchpad cable. And disconnect it. Remove the screws securing the system board. And lift the system board to remove it. To install the system board, align the system board to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. And place it.

Then replace the screws to secure it. Reconnect the touchpad cable. And close the latch. Reconnect the I/O port cable. Now flip down the hinge. And replace the screws. Reconnect the display cable.
