How to Replace the Rear Cover on G15 5530

In this video we will demonstrate how to remove and install the Rear Cover on G15 5530 system.

For more information about safety guidelines, see the owner's manual at Dell.com/Support. Before you begin, turn off the computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals.

To remove the rear cover. Loosen the four screws on the sides of the base cover. Then remove the remaining six screws and pry the cover off the system. Unplug the battery cable. Identify the rear cover and remove the two screws on the corners. Then remove the four screws on the back of the rear cover and lift the cover out of the system.

To reinstall the rear cover. Place it back in the system and tighten the six total screws. Plug in the battery cable. Place the base cover on the system and tighten the screws to secure it. For more information about your Dell system, visit Dell.com/Support.
