This video covers three different methods to enter Safe Mode in Windows. Learn how to use Windows settings, the login screen, or recovery options to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
In this video, we’ll review three different methods to perform a Safe Mode boot up in Windows. To use Windows settings, click on the Windows “Start” button and open “Settings.” In the “System” section, scroll down to “Recovery.” Find the “Advanced startup” option and click on “Restart now.” Once the computer restarts, you will be greeted with the Windows Advanced Startup screen.
Select “Troubleshoot” and click on “Advanced options.” Choose “Startup Settings” and then click on “Restart.” On the “Startup Settings” screen, press “4” or “F4” on your keyboard to enter Safe Mode. If you want to add network capabilities to Safe Mode, press “5” or “F5.” You can also access Safe Mode directly from the Windows login screen.
Click on the “Power” button and select the “Restart” option while holding down “Shift” on your keyboard. The system will boot into the Windows Advanced Startup screen. Repeat the previous process to access Safe Mode. If Windows fails to load more than two times, the third attempt will take you directly to the Windows Advanced Startup screen.
From there, you can attempt to boot into Windows using Safe Mode and try different recovery options for your operating system or data. If you have questions about entering Safe Mode, contact us via one of the options on our support website.
