Battery charge configuration in BIOS and some software applications in Windows can determine when the battery is scheduled to charge. Before checking the AC adapter and battery status in BIOS, make sure to keep the computer connected to the charger during the entire process.
Restart or turn on the computer. At the Dell logo screen, repeatedly tap the F2 key to access bios. The following steps will differ based on your system. For systems manufactured after 2021, go to the power section. Change the battery configuration to standard.
Click apply changes and then exit. For systems manufactured before 2021, expand the power management section. Click on primary battery charge configuration. And select standard. Click apply and then exit. You can also use Dell Power Manager to manage battery settings. Note that Dell Power Manager may not be available for all Dell models.
Click on the Windows start button and type Dell Power Manager into the search bar. Open the result. Under battery information, click on settings and choose standard.
