How to Configure Alerting in iDRAC

iDRAC Alerting Here's how to configure alerting in iDRAC. You can revieve alerts through email, SNMP, IPMI, Remote System Log, WS Eventing or Redfish.

My name is Michael, and i'm a senior engineer here at Dell, and in this video we'll be covering iDRAC alerting. So we're here at the dashboard in the iDRAC. I would get started here, we'll need to go to 'Configuration', 'System Settings', 'Alert Configuration' then 'Alerts'.

In order to receive an alert at a desired location we must have it enabled and an action set for that alert. So we currently show this one is enabled, if it's not enabled you'll have to enable it. And then we will select 'Quick Configuration'. There's two options, there's 'Quick Config', it's a select number of alerts, and then there's the entire alert category customizable.

So we'll, we'll select 'Storage' for this example 'Critical' and 'Warning', and we're gonna just pick the action as email hit 'Apply. And that has now configured alerting for an email destination and that wraps up alerting.
