How to use Dell repository manager to assist in identifying new updates that are available from Dell. There's two methods that can be used. One is compare which allows you to man manually select which updates you want to include in your repository or the refresh option, which allows you to schedule and automated search for new updates and include no notifications. So let's look at both. So I've created an open manage enterprise modular systems, a repository which has these systems in it. It's as easy as selecting it going to compare. And now we've compared what's in that repository to what's currently available from Adele and you can see everything that's ava available and we can look at either the component view.
So if you want to upgrade all the Sass raid controllers, for example, in all the bundles, it's as simple as just selecting that, selecting up update and it will do, do the job or you can look at platform view and you can see what, what is current currently available. So let's close a few of these platforms and go to the MX 7000 chassis itself. You can see that there is a new chassis management firm where that that's available. So we'll just select that and select update. Any manual refresh job has been submitted. And if we come down to the MX 7000 chassis, you'll see now that the chassis management firmware has been is now at 1.40 0.10. If you want to roll back, just go, just go to version, go back to the pre previous version or any version prior that you want to slept. Ok. Then again, if you come in and you look, you'll see that.
Now you've rolled back to 1.30. Now another option is to automate this process. And again, select your repository, select refresh from refresh. We can now set the frequency, we can do it now daily, weekly or monthly Dell releases new catalogs on Fridays. So one of the things that I gen generally do is to schedule my refresh to be we weekly and I'll set it to run on Saturday morning. That way when I come in and log on on Mondays. If there's new content available, it's there for me to read. Review. One of the handy options is to receive an email notification when there's new content available.
And if you've not already configured your email uh server, uh you can do do so I just selecting config configure email and put in your credentials once that is done, then it's as simple as putting in your, your email ID. And that way when the refresh job is is completed. If there are new updates available that are relevant to what you have in your repository, you will receive an email notification with what those updates are and some general information about them. And it's as simple as sitting safe. So that's two simple ways to assist you and identifying when new updates are available and what they are.
