In this video we show how to replace the display assembly on your computer. The actions in the following video should be performed by a Dell certified technician. Your computer may look different from the one shown in this video. However, the service procedure is the same. Before you begin, remove the base cover.
To remove the display assembly, remove the screw that secures WLAN bracket. Then lift away the bracket from the system board. Disconnect the WLAN antenna cables. Then remove sensor cable from system board. Unroute the cables from the routing guides.
Remove the screw that secures the display cable bracket. Lift away the bracket from the system board. Disconnect the display cable from the system board. Turn the system and open the display assembly in a 90 degree angle. Then hold the display and remove the screws that secure the display hinge on the system. Carefully lift and remove the display assembly from the system.
To install the display assembly, align and place the display assembly on the system. Hold the display assembly and fasten the screws secure the display assembly. Close the display assembly and turn system. Then connect the display cable to the system board. Align and place the display cable bracket on the system board. Fasten the screw that secures it. Connect the sensor cable to the system board.
Then route the antenna cable and sensor cable through the hooks. Connect the WLAN antenna cable to the system board. Align and place the WLAN bracket on the system board. And fasten the screw to secure it. For more information or support, visit Dell.com/Support.
