How to Replace HDD Cage on PowerEdge XR12

Watch this video to learn how to remove and install the HDD cage on the Dell EMC PowerEdge XR12.

Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in safety instructions.
Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system:
Power off the system and all attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet, and disconnect the peripherals.
If applicable, remove the system from the rack.
Remove the system cover.
Remove the drives.
Remove the backplane.
NOTE: The procedure to remove the drive cage is the same for Rear Accessed and Front Accessed configurations.

Removing the drive cage:
Using the Phillips 2 screwdriver, loosen the blue thumbscrews.
Hold and lift the drive cage out of the system.

Installing the drive cage:
Align the drive cage with the guide pins on the system and lower it until fully seated.
Using Phillips 2 screwdriver, tighten the blue thumbscrews.

Install the backplane.
Install the drives.

Follow the procedure listed in After working inside the system.
Replace the system cover.
If applicable, install the system into the rack.
Reconnect the peripherals, and connect the system to the electrical outlet, and then power on the system.
