In this video we show how to replace the keyboard on your computer. The actions in the following video should be performed by a Dell certified technician. Your computer may look different from the one shown in this video. However, the service procedure is the same. Before you begin, remove the base cover.
To remove the keyboard, disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board. Then use a plastic scribe to press and release the keyboard tabs. Then turn the system. And open display panel to 180 degree. Then pry the edges of the keyboard. Then lift and remove the keyboard from the system.
To install the keyboard, align and place the keyboard on the system. Then insert the keyboard cable through the keyboard hole. Then press and snap it onto the system. Close the display panel and turn the system. Then connect the keyboard cable to the system board. For more information or support, visit Dell.com/Support.
