Follow safety guidelines to remove and install various system components. From drive backplane covers to cooling fan cage assemblies and control panels, this tutorial covers it all. Ensure a smooth process with detailed instructions for each component.
Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
Power off the system and all attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and disconnect the peripherals.
If applicable, remove the system from the rack.
Remove the system cover.
Remove the drive backplane cover:
Slide the drive backplane cover in the direction of the arrows marked on the drive backplane cover.
Lift the drive backplane cover from the system.
Removing the air shrouds:
Hold the edges of the air shroud, and lift the air shroud out of the system.
OR
Removing the GPU air shroud:
Hold the edges of the GPU air shroud, and lift the air shroud out of the system.
Removing the cooling fan cage assembly:
Lift the blue release levers to unlock the cooling fan cage assembly from the system.
Hold the release levers, and lift the cooling fan cage assembly away from the system.
Removing the side wall bracket:
Press the blue side tabs to release the side wall cable holder.
NOTE:Move the cables out of the side wall cable holder.
Press the center tab to release the bracket from the chassis, and lift it away from the system.
Removing the left control panel:
Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the screws that secures the left control panel and the cable cover to the system.
Remove the cable cover away the system.
Disconnect the control panel cable from the connector on the system board.
Holding the cable, slide the left control panel out of the system.
NOTE:Observe the routing of the cable as you remove the right control panel from the system.

Installing the left control panel:
Align and slide the left control panel in the slot on the system.
Route the left control panel cable through the side wall of the system.
Align and slide the left control panel cable cover in the slot on the system.
NOTE:Route the cable properly to prevent the cable from being pinched or crimped.
Connect the left control panel cable to the connector on the system board .
Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver, tighten the screws to secures the left control panel and the cable cover to the system.

Installing the side wall bracket:
Align the guide slots on the side wall bracket with the guides on the system and slide until the cover is seated firmly.
NOTE:Route the cables through the side wall cable holder.
Close the side wall cable holder until the holder clicks into place.
Installing the cooling fan cage assembly:
Holding the blue release lever of the cooling fan cage, align the guide rails with the guides on the system.
Lower the cooling fan cage assembly into the system until seated firmly.
Lower the blue release lever and press to lock the cooling fan cage assembly into the system.
Installing the drive backplane cover:
Align the drive backplane cover with the guide slots on the system.
Slide the drive backplane cover to the front of the system until the drive backplane cover fits into place.
Installing the air shroud:
Align the slot on the air shroud with the standoff on the system.
Lower the air shroud into the system until it is firmly seated.
OR
Installing the GPU air shroud:
Align the slot on the GPU air shroud with the standoff on the system.
Lower the GPU air shroud into the system until it is firmly seated.
