Remove the screws, securing the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Now flip it over. Open the display. And place the system on its side. Now using the pointed tip of your plastic scribe. Insert it into the screw holes nearest to the display hinges. To dislodge the palm-rest assembly.
Now flip the system over. And do the same for the other side. If you are unable to dislodge the palm-rest assembly with a plastic scribe. Use the pointed end of a paper clip or SIM ejector tool instead. Be careful not to scratch or damage the base cover. Now place the system back. Use the flat end of the plastic scribe to further loosen the assembly. Now lift palm-rest and keyboard assembly, away from the base cover and turn it over.
If your computer is not in service mode, disconnect the battery cable. And disconnect the MCU cable and peel it off from the battery. Then now remove the palm-rest assembly. To install the palm-rest and keyboard assembly, adhere the MCU cable to the battery and connect it.
If your battery was disconnected earlier, connect it back. Flip the assembly over towards the base cover. And snap it into place. Now close the display. And flip the computer over. Now tighten the screws to secure the assembly. For more information or support visit: Dell.com/Support.
