In this video we show how to replace the system on your computer. The actions in the following video should be performed by a Dell certified technician. Your computer may look different from the one shown in this video. However, the service procedure is the same. Before you begin, remove the base cover, battery and m.2 2230 SSD.
To remove the system board, remove the screw that secures the WLAN bracket. Then lift and remove the bracket from the system board. Disconnect the WLAN antenna from the system board. Remove the screw that secures the display cable bracket. Lift and remove the bracket away from the system board. Disconnect display cable from the system board. Disconnect the sensor cable the system board.
Disconnect the world facing camera cable from the system board. Disconnect. the I/O board cable. touchpad cable and keyboard cable. Then remove the two screws that secure the type-C bracket. And lift it away from the system board. Remove the screws that secure the system board. And carefully lift and remove the system board from the system.
To install the system board, carefully align and place the system board on system. Then fasten the screws that secure the system board. Align and place the type-C bracket on the system board. And fasten the screws to secure it. Connect the keyboard cable, touchpad cable and I/O cable to the system board. And connect the display cable to the system board.
Align and place the display cable bracket onto the system board. And fasten the screw to secure it. Connect the world facing camera cable to the system board. And connect the sensor cable to the system board. The connect the WLAN antenna cable to the system board. Then align and place the WLAN bracket on the system board. And fasten the screw to secure it.
