In this video, we show how to replace the Intrusion switch, in a PowerEdge XE7740. To remove intrusion switch, first disconnect the backplane cables, unrouted the backplane cable via the cable holder. then the signals cables and keep them away. Now, disconnect the intrusion switch cable from the HPM. and unrouted the cable via the cable holder. Then, remove four screws and lift the intrusion switch out of the system along with the intrusion switch cable.
To install the intrusion switch, first insert the intrusion switch in its place and tighten the screws. Then, route the cable via the cable holder. Also, the cable needs to be installed into the hooks on the bottom of the fan gantry to prevent it from being sucked into the fan blades Now, reconnect the intrusion switch cable on the HPM.
