In this video we show how to replace touchpad on your computer. The actions in the following video should be performed by a Dell certified technician. Your computer may look different from the one shown in this video. However, the service procedure is the same. Before you begin, remove the base cover and battery.
To remove the touchpad, unroute the speaker cable from the routing guides. Then remove the screws that secure the touchpad bracket on the system. Lift and remove the touchpad bracket from the system. Disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board. Peel the touchpad cable. Then remove the screws that secure touchpad. Then lift and remove the touchpad from the system.
To install the touchpad, align and place the touchpad on system. Fasten the screws that secure the touchpad. Connect the touchpad cable to the system board. Then align and place the touchpad bracket on system. Fasten the screws that secure it. Route the speaker cable through the routing guides. For more information or support, visit Dell.com/Support.
