Welcome to VM Ware, Carbon Black Cloud onboarding part four. This video will discuss how to uninstall and deregister a sensor and links for troubleshooting issues. In this video, you may see some options that are not present on your vmware, Carbon black cloud console. The available options are determined by the services. Your organization has purchased sensors can be uninstalled directly at the endpoint or from within the carbon black cloud console.
If your organization has enabled a policy to require a code to uninstall the sensor, you will need to obtain the code prior to uninstalling directly from the end device to locate the uninstalled code from the endpoint section. Select the device then expand the Chevron. The uninstall code will show in the device details. This uninstalled code is unique for each device. If you are directly uninstalling from multiple devices, the company de registration code can be used.
The location of the company de registration code is in the end point section from the sensor options drop down, choose the company codes option use the code shown in the company de registration code section to complete the uninstall warning. The company de registration code can be used to uninstall all sensors in your organization. As a VMWARE, carbon black cloud administrator, you can uninstall the sensor from the device through the console without an uninstall code to accomplish this. From the endpoint section.
Select the device in the take action, drop down, select uninstall, then click uninstall to complete the process. Uninstall puts the sensor into a deregistered status. A deregistered sensor is uninstalled but it will still appear in the console. If you would like to remove a deregistered device, select the device then from the take action dropdown. Choose delete deregistered devices. If you prefer to have deregistered devices deleted automatically from the end point section, choose the sensor options drop down.
Then sensor setting option from the sensor setting window check the box, delete sensors that have been deregistered for select a timeframe and click save for more information about uninstalling the sensor view.
