How to use solution catalogs with Dell Repository Manager. Many teams with Intel are now creating custom catalogs that have content that is related to their solution. Examples of solution catalogs are for the MX 7000 for ESX I Very V San uh for Azure H CIO S. Uh Additionally, the same method that you would use to identify and use a solution catalog is also how you would find and use previous versions of the enterprise catalog.
So it starts with going to add repository. We're gonna use the MX validated stack catalog as our example. So we'll just create a repo called MX Repo and we need to change the base catalog from enterprise server catalog to a solution catalog and you do that by navigating to the index catalog. And from here, you'll see catalog groups. You can see that there is the previous enterprise serve server catalogs.
You can select that if you wish to go to one of our older catalogs um solution catalogs for Vsan for ESX I for the validated stack. And if you scroll down, you'll see that there's also the Azure HCI O uh cat catalogs as well. So we'll just go to the validated MX stack catalog. It's like, yeah, you have access to all the catalogs that were made by the MX team and we'll just select the most recent version Sluck Shave Repository manager is now adding that catalog to its list of catalogs that it has available to it. Here, you can use the manual method to create your repository and you can review the documentation and the related video if you want to learn more.
But we'll just go and quickly look at custom so that you can see that within this catalog is just the platforms that are related to the MX seven thou 1000. So very specific. But we're going to use the integration cap capability and within integrations and there's a a video and documentation on it as well. Since this, since the MX 7000 cha chassis use open manage enterprise modular edition, select Windows 64 and OS independent as our do types and select our integration type as open manage enterprise. And this will connect to the modular edition as well.
Is that your host name or IP address? Give it your user name and password insect connect repository manager is now making a secure connection to this instance of open manage enterprise modular edition that's sitting on an MX 7000. And you can see all the different groups that are available for you to make a repository from including the predefined groups and any custom groups that that you may have uh created, we just select all devices and sluck out repository manager is now gathering the inventory file from that MX 7000 and comparing it against the MX validated stack catalog to create your repository.
And once that has been done, you can open up the repository, you can see that there's the MX 7000 chassis, what the firmware ver versions that are available for it. And if you open up the, the MX 7 40 C blade itself, you'll see all the different firmware versions that are available as well. So that's how you use the solution catalogs to create a custom repository that's very specific to your solution that, that you are using.
