Hi there. In this video, we'll cover how to subscribe to receive Dell driver and firmware update notifications. To ensure optimal performance and stability for your Dell system, email notifications keep you informed of the latest driver and firmware updates. Navigate to Dell.com/Support/home drivers subscription to start the activation process.
Make sure you're logged into your Dell support page account before continuing. A link to the accounts page is listed in the description below. From the driver subscription page, the first step is to select your system type. For this example, we'll be setting up notifications for a Dell PowerVault ME5012.
But for other systems, follow the same procedure. Sticking with the PowerVault example, select storage. PowerVault systems are Dell's entry-level storage solution, so select entry level and mid-range. Here we can see PowerVault listed. And now we can select the model type. For this example, it's the ME series. Finally, we can select the specific model. Again, for this example, it's the ME5012. With the product selected, we now have to select the operating system.
Select the operating system relevant to your machine. For this example, we'll use Windows Server 2022. You can now select which specific components you wish to be updated about. You can use the dropdown to pick individual components, or if you wish to be updated on all updates, simply click on select all. Once you have chosen, click on continue. On this section, we can give the subscription a custom title from the one that has been automatically populated.
This is helpful if you're setting up multiple subscriptions to identify quickly which machine the update email is referring to. For this example, though, we'll just leave it as the automatically populated name. Verify here that the email address is where you want to receive the updates. The email address used will be the one that's linked to your Dell account when logged in.
If you want to receive the updates to an alternative email address, you will have to create a Dell online account for that email. Or you can change the email address in your current account via the support page account. Profile settings. Assuming the email address is correct, next select your notification type, whether it be critical only, critical and recommended, or all updates. For this example, we'll leave it on all updates.
Finally, you can set the frequency of the notifications: daily, weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. Pick the frequency you would prefer and click on continue. The last page allows you to review all of your selections, double check the product, operating system, email, and frequency. You can click cancel at any time to change the settings, but if everything looks OK, click on save. Your subscription is now set up. All further subscriptions will be listed here and can be managed using the action button shown. And that's it. Thanks for watching.
