How to Create Virtual Pool for OME Stateless

The OpenManage Essentials (OME) 2.1 release includes a new feature set for Stateless computing with centralized management of server virtual I/O addresses within OME. In this video we will demonstrate how to create a virtual I/O pool, Which is required for stateless deployments. A virtual I/O pool is a definition of identity types which determine The identities that OpenManage Essentials will generate for deployment On a target server.

Before you begin, note that you must either define the identities that OpenManage Essentials will generate Or import identities from a CSV file.

To begin, click Create Virtual I/O Pool. Type a unique name for the virtual I/O pool and click Next. To allow OpenManage Essentials to generate the ethernet identities based On the default setting, click Next.

Click Next to generate the Fibre Channel Worldwide Node Name Identities Based on the default settings. To generate the Fibre Channel Worldwide Port Name Identities Based on the default settings, click Next.

Now, we will demonstrate how to import the iSCSI-qualified name identities From a CSV file. Before we import the identities, let's open the CSV file and see the identities.

Click Import from file, and then click Import. In the Import Wizard, click Import and select the CSV file. Close the Import Results window and the Import Wizard.

Then click Next. Review your preferences in the Summary page, and then click Finish. The virtual I/O pool that you created is displayed in the Virtual I/O Pool pane.
