To extract the components within the tar file, un-tar the files: - tar -xvzf - Xtracted files should contain the following: - dkms rpm (dkms-.rpm) - driver rpm (megaraid_sas-.rpm) - source code (megaraid_sas--src.tgz) Adding or Updating the Driver on a System. - Install the DKMS rpm package if needed. Use this command: - rpm -ivh NOTE: Use rpm -Uvh when updating an existing package. - nstall the Driver package. Use this command - rpm -Uvh - Verify the driver has been loaded with this system command: modinfo mpt2sas for rhel 5/sleS10/sles11 modinfo mpt2sasbtm for rhel4. and this dkms command: dkms status The version shown in the output should match in both cases and with the version of the package.
