Secured Component Verification is an upsell offering to customers that will create a TCG Platform Certificate in the factory that the customer will use to validate that the hardware they have been shipped is exactly what Dell has manufactured, providing a method to detect unauthorized modifications between Dell and the customer. During the manufacturing process the hardware configuration will be captured as named value pairs consistent with the TCG Platform Certificate Specifications. This certificate will be signed by the Dell factory and stored in iDRAC or in EC (for MX) for the customer to retrieve or the Dell Validation Application to retrieve. The factory or field replacement certificate will persist through reset operations like Factory LCWipe, SystemErase. Phase 1 supports direct ship customers and does not include VAR or Part Replacement scenarios. Apart from the existing inventory collection, Phase 2 supports PCIe component inventory and replacement of RACADM calls with Rest API calls. Phase 1 was supporting only in-band inventory collection using Local RACADM internally.Phase 2 will support both in-band and out-of-band inventory collection methods using RestAPI for iDRAC/MX.
