Need to ensure Venue Pro 11 has AC power, either directly to the tablet or docked to AC-powered desktop dock before starting the firmware update.

NOTE: If the Venue Pro 11 is shut down, powered off or loses power during the update process, you may damage the unit.

Download

1. Click Download File to download the file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click Save this program to disk and click OK. The Save In: window appears.
3. From the Save In: field, click the down arrow then click to select Desktop and click Save. The file will download to your desktop.
4. If the Download Complete window appears, click Close. The file icon appears on your desktop.

Prepare for update

Ensure Venue Pro 11 is plugged in to AC or on the desktop dock with AC power attached before starting the firmware update.
NOTE: If the Venue Pro 11 is shut down, powered off or loses power during the update process, you may damage the unit.

Install

1. Double-click the new icon on the desktop.
2. The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\7GFRJ. Write down this path so the executable file StartUpdate.exe can be found later.
3. The Self-Extractor window appears.
4. Click OK.
5. After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it.
6. A Windows Explorer window will come up at path C:\DELL\DRIVERS\7GFRJ.
7. Execute (double-click) the program StartUpdate.exe.
8. Message indicating patch is updating will appear.
9. When patch update is finished, it will show "Update Succeeded" message. Press "OK".
10. Message saying "It will take effect after reboot! Reboot now" comes up. Press "Yes" to reboot the system to complete the patch update process.

Reboot will be required
