This firmware package contains updated Fibre Channel Module Firmware. The library, RMU, and LTO tape drive firmware are the same version of firmware found in release A02.

The following problems are fixed: · Repeated SAC A0 errors when the library is left idle overnight · Library fails to recognize the mail slot after power on or a door open close condition. This results in the following message on the LCD, ERROR!. · Library fails to recognize installed cartridge magazines or columns. · SAC A0 is generated when removing the remote management card from the library. · Communication problems between the library and tape drive resulting in a Drive Communication Error message on the library LCD. · Drive firmware update through remote management card fails on the 2nd drive in a multiple-drive firmware update · SAC 42 errors where the bar code scanner is unable to detect and installed mailbox · SAC 43 errors where the library is unable to read the configuration label installed on storage columns or storage magazines · Support for 7 digit Dell Service Tag

The following problems are fixed: · Following the cold boot of the PowerVault 136T, the Fibre Channel module may not discover the library or LTO tape drives. The SCSI devices are missing when issuing a scsiShow or targets command from the FC module command line interface. · Problem where devices behind the Fibre Channel module disappear from the OS or ISV software while running operations from multiple servers.

Downloading the upgrade
1. Download the file 136FWA03.EXE to a directory on your hard drive. The file will downloaded is a self extracting executable.
2. Run the executable file by double-clicking the icon.
3. The file will extract to the following locations:
x:\dell\drivers\136T\FirmwareA03 - Contains the update procedures. x:\dell\drivers\136T\FirmwareA03\Library – Contains the library firmware. x:\dell\drivers\136T\FirmwareA03\RMU – Contains the remote management card firmware. x:\dell\drivers\136T\FirmwareA03\LTO Drive – Contains the LTO tape drive firmware. x:\dell\drivers\136T\FirmwareA03\FC Module – Contains the Fibre Channel bridge firmware.
Upgrading the PowerVault 136T Library Firmware
The PowerVault 136T Library Firmware is updated through the remote management card of the library. The remote management card must have a valid IP address.
1. Open a web browser from the computer that contains the firmware files.
2. Point the web browser to the IP address of the remote management card that is contained in the library whose firmware is to be updated.
3. Select the firmware tab from the main page.
4. Enter the administrator user name and password for this library. The default user name is admin and the default password is password.
5. Select Update Library Firmware in the Select Target for Update box that appears.
6. Click on the Browse button and select the location of the firmware file. The default directory is x:\dell\drivers\136T\FirmwareA03\Library.
7. Click on the Update Firmware button and the process will begin. DO NOT POWER CYCLE or RESET the library during the firmware update.
8. Reboot the library once the update has finished.
9. The firmware level of the library can be verified by going to the main web page of the remote management card. The firmware version is listed in the Library Firmware field.

1. Open a web browser from the computer that contains the firmware files.

5. Select Update RMU Firmware in the Select Target for Update box that appears.
6. Click on the Browse button and select the location of the firmware file rmu-dell136t.lif. The default directory is x:\dell\drivers\136T\FirmwareA03\RMU.
7. Click on the Update Firmware button and the process will begin. DO NOT POWER CYCLE or RESET the library during the firmware update.
8. Reboot the library once the update has finished.
9. The firmware level of the remote management card can be verified by going to the main web page of the remote management card. The firmware version is listed in the RMU Firmware field.
Upgrading the PowerVault 136T LTO Tape Drive Firmware
There are two methods for upgrading the PowerVault 136T LTO Tape Drive Firmware. These methods are through the remote management card or through the use of Dell’s Library and Tape Tools Application. The Library and Tape Tools Application is contained in the x:\dell\drivers\136T\FirmwareA03 \LTO Drive directory.
Upgrading the LTO Drive Firmware through the Dell Library and Tape Tools Application (Recommended)
