- UEFI0074 may appear in the Lifecycle Log or during the initial BIOS POST when upgrading or downgrading the BIOS from version 1.18.1 or earlier to version 1.19.1 or later. This behavior is expected.
- Ensure that the BIOS is updated to version 1.7.4 or later before updating the iDRAC firmware to revision 6.00.30.00 or later. If the BIOS is not updated first, the system may halt during early boot at the BIOS and iDRAC handshake while displaying the message "initializing data processing unit". This issue may occur after an AC power cycle or during a CPLD firmware update.
- Beginning with BIOS version 1.9.2, a security enhancement prevents older BIOS versions from accessing SGX sealed data. For this reason, downgrading the BIOS on Intel SGX enabled systems is not recommended. Users of Intel SGX DCAP and Intel SGX PCS must update the BIOS to version 1.9.2 or later to verify collateral with the Intel IAS-LIV enforcement server after January 17, 2023.
- Disabling the CPU Physical Address Limit option in BIOS enables 5-level paging. Enabling this option may cause the operating system to halt with a "driver verifier DMA violation" blue screen error when booting an operating system that does not support 5-level paging, such as Microsoft Windows Server 2019 or Microsoft Windows Server 2016.
- When updating the BIOS for the first time from version 1.4.4 or earlier to a later version, the Correctable Error Logging (CEL) option defaults to Disabled.
