Important Information
If the System has a Broadcom 1GB LOM or add-on PCIe network card, then follow the below steps before installing the chipset:
1. Disable Integrated Network Card 1 in the BIOS. This option should be performed after installing the Windows Server operating system on Dell EMC PowerEdge servers, but before installing any drivers or any OoB drivers.
2. To disable Integrated Network Card 1, go to System BIOS Settings >> Integrated Devices >> Integrated Network Card 1.
3. Select Disable(OS).
4. Boot into the Windows Server operating system, install Broadcom OoB drivers and reboot if prompted.
5. Once confirmed, go to System BIOS Settings -> Integrated Devices -> Integrated Network Card 1 and select "Enable" option and boot into the Windows Server operating system.
6. Go to chipset installation.
If the system has a GPU PCIe device, then follow the below steps before installing the chipset:
1. Disable x2APIC in the System BIOS. Go to System BIOS Settings >> Processor Settings and select "Disable" x2APIC mode.
2. Boot into Windows Server 2019, download and install GPU OoB drivers from the Vendor website, and restart the System if prompted.
3. Proceed with chipset installation (see 'Installation Instructions')
Upon successful installation of drivers, go to System BIOS Settings >> Processor Settings and select "Enable" option for x2APIC mode.
This DUP applies branding strings to Intel chipset devices and removes yellow bangs in Device Manager.
If chipset devices already have branding strings that are applied, the update is skipped and the chipset version does not change.
