- On the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x/6.x operating system, DVDs are auto-mounted with the -noexec mount option. This option does not allow you to run any executables from the DVD. To fix this problem, you need to unmount the DVD, manually re-mount the DVD, and then run executables.
The command to unmount the DVD is # umount
The command to manually mount DVD is # mount
- Operating System support for autorun varies. If the software does not automatically launch when the DVD is inserted, it must be manually invoked with one of the following commands in the root directory of the DVD:
Linux: ./autorun Windows: md_launcher.exe
- Before you run the silent install command, make sure to run the following script(s) from the Resource DVD to install prerequisite packages.
# On the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 operating system : md_prereq_install.sh
# On the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 operating system and above : linux_hostnameupdates.sh
- On the SuSE Linux Enterprise 11 operating system, before you run the silent install command, make sure to run the following script from the Resource DVD to install prerequisite packages.
