This file contains a compressed (or zipped) set of files. Download the file to a folder on your hard drive, and then run (double-click) it to unzip the set of files. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
Dell recommends that you backup or make copies of all important files before performing this update. This firmware update process is done entirely at your own risk. If performed correctly, there will be no loss of system or user data on the drive. However, if the firmware process is interrupted for any reason, your solid state drive may not function properly.
Note: You are advised to back up the data in the system and close all open applications. It is also recommended to connect the power cable if it is not a desktop and disconnect all external storage devices.
Download 1. Click Download File. 2. When download is complete, run Toshiba KBG20ZMS128G_KBG20ZMS256G_KBG20ZMS512G 2K22N_ZPE.exe to unzip this file. 3. Select Continue and take note of the unzip location.
Firmware upgrade through the Windows utility
Installation 1. Go to the directory containing the download package as noted above. 2. Run the firmware update utility with administrator privilege (right-click on the executable, then select Run as administrator). 3. Review the License Agreement. If you agree with it, click I ACCEPT and then click Next >. Tips: You can save EULA (End User License Agreement) by clicking Save EULA as Text. 4. The welcome window is displayed. If you want to continue firmware update operation, then, you need to read warning message carefully. Click Next > to continue. 5. SSD selection window is displayed. You cannot select SSDs which are not targeted on your FW Update Tool. 6. Click Check Box to select your firmware updates target drive(s). Click Next > to continue. 7. Before You Begin window is displayed like below. If you want to continue firmware update operation, you need to confirm these check items respectively by yourself. If you meet requirements, click Yes, I did Check Box to proceed your firmware update. Then, click Next > to continue. 8. Firmware update operation starts automatically. The completion message below is displayed within a few seconds. Press Shutdown button to execute system power down. 9. Due to execute shutdown operation, below warning message is displayed before actual shutdown operation. If your system has unsaved data, save unsaved data and close all applications respectively. If your system does not start shutdown process automatically, then you need to execute shutdown process manually.
New SSD firmware is applied when you power on your system next time. If you want to check new firmware revision, execute above operation from 2) to 6). You can see your current firmware revision on your SSD.
