1. Click Download File to download the file.
2. When download is complete, run the downloaded file to extract to your drive.
3. The file explorer opens pointing to the directory containing the download package. Take note of the path.

Firmware upgrade through the Windows utility

Procedure
1. Run Seagate ST2000LM007 X1P87_ZPE.exe.
2. Select Continue and take note of the extract location.
3. Run Seagate ST2000LM007 X1P87.exe as administrator if you want to update firmware for 2 TB hard disk drive.
4. Select Next on the welcome screen.
5. The next screen is a warning screen, read and select Next if you agree.
6. The next screen is the License Agreement screen. If you agree, click I Agree and then click Next.
7. A screen appears asking to close and save all applications and to back up your data. When you are ready to start the firmware update, check Begin firmware update procedure, and click Proceed.
8. A Seagate Firmware Update Setup window opens to show the drive updating firmware status. Once the firmware update is complete, click next to the next window.
9. A window appears showing Download Complete Status. Click Finish to exit application.
10. Turn off the computer once and power it back on.
11. To confirm that the firmware update was successful, go to Device manager > Disk Drives > Select ST2000LM007 > click Properties > choose hardware ID and under Details, check the firmware version that is displayed.
