Symptoms
This article details the cause of the issue of VM protection policy being lost when vCenter user privilege is set to "no access".
Changing vCenter privilege of the user that is used to register vCenter in PowerStore to "no access" causes an expected loss of PowerStore monitoring/management in vCenter. When the privilege is restored, VM protection policy is no longer assigned.
Cause
Once vCenter user privilege is lost, the VMs were removed from the inventory which resulted in the loss of association to the VM protection policy.Resolution
Manually reassign protection policies to VMs after restoring the user privilege.Affected Products
