Symptoms

Error Message:

EIP0278E The command is rejected due to using invalid parameters in the environment MCL 5978_300 and higher.

 

Cause

This is due to an invalid combination of parameters for saved or secure snapset.

 

Resolution

To resolve this, review the Data Protector for z Systems(zDP) Define parameter values.
Then use the Formula found in the Dell Technologies TimeFinder SnapVX and zDP product guide in chapter on Features and Concepts.
The section titled "Setting the snapset limit (MAX_SNAPSET) The information there describes how to configure your parameters with a saved and secure snapset.
