Solution

There are two ways of accessing the XMS command line

  •        From the GUI go to Administration > CLI Terminal
  •        Use an SSH program, such as PuTTY, to login
  1. When the prompt comes up, login with user: xmsadmin and password: Xtrem10
  2. At this point another login will come up for the XMS CLI.  It can be admin, tech, or any other user that's been created.

The reason for two logins is that the xmsadmin will direct you to the xmcli for running commands.  Root access is restricted to EMC support engineers only.  To request that password be changed, please contact your sales team or customer advocate.
