NetWorker 19.9 How to Configure Twinning

Instructions
- Under the NMC Administration Protection window taskbar
Create a Client Create a Group with the name TwinGroup1, select the Client Create a Policy with the name TwinPolicy1 Create a Workflow with the name TwinWorkflow1, select the TwinGroup1
- Under the NMC Administration Media window taskbar
Create a pool named "Twin1", with the Pool type: Backup, with the Label template: Data Domain Default; and in the Selection Criteria, Media type required: Data Domain Create another pool named "Twin2", with the Pool type: Backup Clone, with the Label template: Data Domain Default Clone; and in the Selection Criteria, Media type required: Data Domain
- Under the NMC Administration Devices window taskbar
Create a new Data Domain device using the New Device Wizard, select the Pool Type: Backup, and Use an existing pool: "Twin1" Create another new Data Domain device using New Device Wizard, with Pool Type: Backup Clone, and Use an existing pool: "Twin2"
- To Test the twinning configuration of the two Data Domain devices, use the save command by logging into the Client:
save -s <NetWorker_server_name> -p Twin1,Twin2 "/DATA"Verify the save and the twin using the command:
mminfo -s <NetWorker_server_name> -avot -N /DATA
- Create the twinning Workflow Action using nsrpolicy command on the NetWorker server.
nsrpolicy action create backup traditional -o Twin1 -a Twin2 -n Yes -p TwinPolicy1 -w TwinWorkflow1 -A backup

Additional Information
To view details about the twinning in the POLICY, use the below commands:
nsrpolicy action display -p <Policy_Name> -w <Workflow_Name> -A <Action_Name>
Look for:
"abtAdditionalPools":
"abtFailBackupOnTwinFailure":
nsradmin> print type : nsr protection policy action ; workflow name: <Twin_Action's_Workflow_Name>
Look for:
Additional pools: <TWIN_Pool_Name>;
Fail Backup On Twin Failure: Yes;
The NMC Administration Graphical UI does not show the twinning information.
The NWUI does not show the twinning information.
There is no way to configure a separate Browse and Retention for the twin. The twin's browse and retention must be changed after the twin is completed. See the NetWorker Administration Guide's section "Changing the save set browse and retention time" for directions.
