Symptoms

Data DomainシステムをActive Directoryに参加させようとすると、次のようなエラーで操作が失敗します。
messages.engineering:
ddsh: NOTICE: MSG-DDSH-00009: (tty=pts/2, session=13161) sysadmin: command "cifs set authentication active-directory abc.xyz.com <IP>"..

sms: NOTICE: Could not join domain abc.xyz.com

sms: NOTICE: cifs_join: result_status [3] result_string [Failed with internal error (no output)]

Cause

パスワードにマルチバイト文字が含まれている場合、Data DomainをActive Directory (AD)に参加させることができません。
 
  • Data DomainはASCII文字と拡張ASCII文字をサポートしますが、マルチバイト文字はサポートしません
  • この制限は、ADへの参加時に使用されるユーザー パスワードにのみ適用されます。
  • Data Domain上のCIFS共有への接続時のユーザー認証には適用されません。

Resolution

  • この問題は、Data Domain上のデータ アクセスには影響しません。
  • 回避策は、パスワードにASCIIまたは拡張ASCII文字のみを使用することです。
