Symptoms

An issue is found while running or installing the RecoverPoint splitter vSphere Installation Bundle (VIB).
This issue is on a three node VxRail cluster.

Cause

Enforcement for a Secure ESXi Configuration has been enabled. This setting execInstalledOnly fails the installation of the RP-Splitter.vib.

RP-Splitter.vib is a Partner Supported VIB.
EMCJIRAF.vib is a Broadcom Supported VIB, and is officially Signed by Broadcom.

The setting execInstalledOnly fails the installation RP-Splitter.Vib since it is not a Broadcom supported VIB.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  1. Disable the setting on the affected host. 
    -execInstalledOnly
  2. Reboot the server.
  3. Reinstall both RecoverPoint VIBs.
  4. Reboot the server.
