Symptoms
During a PowerProtect File System backup for specific file systems, backup might fail with the following error reported:
[TRACE_ID_e2144cff992b6528] ddfssv Warning <18133>: Calling DDR_WRITE returned result code:(5083) Invalid sequence number message:DDRIO_Write::WriteToDDR: ddp_write failed
ddp_write() failed Offset 8610906804, BytesToWrite 262144, BytesWritten 0 Err: 5083-Invalid sequence number
ddp_access() failed, Path storage_unit/fsab.rec.lck, mode 0 Err: 5004-nfs lookup failed (ns: No such file or directory)Cause
This is a known code defect affecting PowerProtect Data Manager versions prior to 19.15. The PowerProtect Data Manager file system backup data mover causes the DDR write operation to encounter an invalid sequence number during the data transfer to the Data Domain. The invalid sequence number causes the write to fail with error 5083, which cascades into an NFS lookup failure (error 5004) as the backup session state becomes invalid.
Resolution
Upgrade PowerProtect Data Manager appliance and agent to 19.15. If using version 19.14, Contact Dell Support to obtain a hotfix.
