Symptoms
Observed Issue
The system reports the following symptom:
PDR63: A bad disk block on "arg1" cannot be reassigned during a write operation.
Cause
Disks Write Failure Due to Unreassignable Bad Blocks.
A write operation cannot complete because the disk contains bad blocks that the system cannot reassign. These unrecoverable blocks prevent successful data placement during write processes.
- Bad disk blocks are detected on the affected drive.
- The storage controller cannot remap or reassign the blocks.
- Write operations targeting these blocks fail, interrupting normal I/O.
- Potential data loss may occur if affected data cannot be recovered.
Resolution
Hard Disk must be replaced.
