PowerScale OneFS: Root Certificate Authority update required
Summary: This KB article details an update to the trusted root Certificate Authorities (CAs) issued to maintain product update infrastructure security and integrity.
Instructions
An update to the trusted root Certificate Authority (CA) is issued to maintain product update infrastructure security and integrity.
Dell is transitioning away from Entrust to DigiCert as a trusted root CA provider as part of this update.
This means that customers should upgrade their clusters to one of the following OneFS releases or install the patch below, before taking upgrades published after January 01, 2026:
- OneFS 9.5.1.5
- OneFS 9.7.1.11
- OneFS 9.10.1.4
- OneFS 9.11.0.6
- OneFS 9.12.0.1
- Patch 9.X_GA-RUP_2025-10_PSP-4737: Patch for all the releases across OneFS 9.5.0.0 to 9.13.0.0 (DigiCert update)
NOTES:
(1) Installing the above patch or upgrading to one of the above OneFS versions automatically updates the root CA to the required level.
(2) If the cluster is already running one of the above OneFS versions or later, no other actions are required before upgrade.
