Symptoms

Bootable ISO created in Dell Repository Manager (DRM) 3.5 with bootable iso plugin version 955 may stop at the login prompt. Issue is observed when Dell System Update (DSU)  DUP - (Dell update package) is part of the repository. Inclusion of any of DSU DUP in the repository before exporting to iso may cause an issue.

 

In addition to the login prompt, a message about "Trying to upgrade DSU" may appear.

Cause

File handling issues in DRM code caused the issue.

Resolution

Workaround:  Remove DSU DUPS from Repository and export repository to new ISO OR use Platform specific bootable ISO from DRM.

 

Solution: DRM patch released by end of March 2026 will have fix for the issue.
