Data Domain: upgrade to DDOS 8.6 warning: non-SMTP command from dd hostname

Symptoms

Cause

This behavior is introduced by a new health check feature in DDOS 8.6.x.
The Data Domain performs a port connectivity check against configured systems.
The check uses curl, which sends an HTTP GET/request.
When directed at an SMTP port, this appears as a non-SMTP command, triggering a Postfix warning.

Resolution

No action is required.
This is expected and benign behavior.
The warning can be safely ignored.
No functional impact to mail services or Data Domain operation.
