Environment:
 
- NetWorker 9.1.0.2
- NMC server on Windows 2012 R2
- NW server on Linux
- vCenter 5.5U3

NMC can display vCenter information in NMC when first opned after gstd started. At the time of first refresh the following error is displayed:

Error fetching vCwnter information for <cVnter name>
Reason(s): Dispatcher: Request timed out

and the view goes blank.

Reason:

Connection to vCenter is timing out.

Solution:

The following environment variables need to be added:
  • On the NetWorker server please ad the following lines to /nsr/nsrrc file:
NSR_VBA_CONNECT_TIMEOUT=1200 
export NSR_VBA_CONNECT_TIMEOUT
NSR_VBA_REQUEST_TIMEOUT=3600
export NSR_VBA_REQUEST_TIMEOUT
NSR_VBA_CPTAG_REQUEST_TIMEOUT=3600
export NSR_VBA_CPTAG_REQUEST_TIMEOUT
NSR_HYPERVISOR_QUERY_REQUEST_TIMEOUT=3600
export NSR_HYPERVISOR_QUERY_REQUEST_TIMEOUT
  • On the NMC server please add the System environment variable:
GST_VBA_TIMEOUT=7200
  • Restart NetWorker server processes and gstd process if NMC is installed on a separate host.
