Se un VxRail richiede la creazione di un datastore su Data Domain (DD), si tratta di una richiesta di condivisione NFS (Network File System).

Una volta creata la share NFS su DD, è possibile montarla su Elastic Sky X (ESX). VxRail può quindi utilizzarlo per spostare le macchine virtuali (VM) o i file dei dischi delle VM da altri datastore.

Additional Information

  • VMware supporta sia Virtual Machine File System (VMFS) che Network File System (NFS) per i datastore.
  • Entrambi i datastore supportano vMotion, una funzionalità per spostare le VM da un host a un altro.
  • La differenza tra VMFS e NFS è minima:
    • NFS è a livello di file 
    • VMFS è un file a livello di blocco
