  • Azure VM disk backups complete successfully.
  • The save set called 'Azure' fails to backup:

  • The backup action log details that the psuedo_saveset process failed to External Data Representation (XDR) encode the save set:

    • Windows (Default): C:\Program Files\EMC NetWorker\nsr\logs\policy\POLICY-NAME\WORKFLOW-NAME\ACTION-NAME_JOBID_LOGS\JOBID.log

Cause

This issue is raised to NetWorker engineering.

At completion of an Azure VM backup workflow, psuedo_saveset generates the 'Azure' save set containing the metadata of all the Azure VMs backed up.

All releases (19.14.0.0 and prior) are impacted.

Resolution

This issue is expected to be fixed in the 19.14.0.1 release. Tentative 2026-07-08

There is no workaround for this issue.

Additional Information

WARNING: When the psuedo_saveset 'Azure' fails, the successful VM backups from the workflow are not visible in the NetWorker Web User Interface (NWUI) recover wizard: NetWorker: Azure VM Backups Not Shown In NWUI Recovery Tab

Azure VM backups that completed successfully, where psuedo_saveset (Azure) failed are command-line recoverable only: NetWorker: How to Perform Azure VM Snapshot Restore from Command-Line
