Dell Automation Platform: Blueprint Deployment passes when Orchestrator Proxy is off

Symptoms

Dell Automation Platform v1.0 Orchestrator introduces a blueprint which will be software only. The blueprint has references to binary or container and can be referred from external sources, Download and Drivers (DnD) or Dell Automation Platform Orchestrator.

In Dell Automation Platform v1.0, during Software only Blueprint deployment in SaaS environment, if the Orchestrator Proxy virtual machine is turned off, the deployment still passes from initial deploy wizard but fails shortly. 

Oxy VM is turned off.

Cause

The current design of the internal event does not change the status of Orchestrator Proxy Server. The blueprint deployment cannot detect the incorrect status of the Orchestrator Proxy Server. 

Resolution

Resolution

  • Confirm Orchestrator Proxy Server is up and running in a SaaS environment
  • The permaneant solution will be implemented in the next Dell Automation Platform Release
