Drive Firmware does not update on SED nodes

Symptoms
This article is specific to Seagate Self-Encrypted Drives (SED) with firmware 9L77 or 9P73 installed.
The following entries appear in /var/log/messages on a node:
2026-04-14T11:21:24.538784+00:00 <3.3> test-1(id1) isi_drive_d[6098]: Cannot find node for firmware version '9L77'
2026-04-14T11:21:24.541963+00:00 <3.3> test-1(id1) isi_drive_d[6098]: /b/mnt/src/isilon/bin/isi_drive_d/fw_update.c:drive_alert_check_bay:951: Unknown firmware in bay 10, model SEAGATE ST8000NM011B, ver 9L77
Checking the release notes for the drive support package (dsp) installed, you see that there is a newer firmware version LXXX or PXXX available. Attempting to upgrade the newer firmware does not install and there is no error message.
Cause
Information related to firmware versions 9L77 and 9P73 was omitted from the dsp.
Resolution
DSP 1.60.1 and above have the information for those firmware versions included. Upgrade to the latest DSP.
