DPA: UI returns 500 error when running reports and dashboard templates

Summary: DPA shows error 500 when trying to run any manual reports and dashboard templates. Scheduled dashboards do not show any data as well.

Symptoms

When attempting to run manual reports or dashboard templates from the UI a 500 error is generated with the following information:

INFO    RESTService    Received response. Response = 
version: 1/1, code: 500, message: <error>
   <id>exception.generic_report_engine_error</id> </error>

Also scheduled dashboards do run, but they have no information within them.
In the server.log, the following errors are also listed:

Cause

Currency value was not set for user attempting to run reports.

Resolution

Set a currency value for the user which is running the reports within the DPA UI.

  1. Go to Administration > User & Security
  2. Select the user and click Edit
  3. Click the Preferences tab
  4. Select a Currency in the Global Settings section
