Symptoms
- Adding new
INCLUDEstatements after existingINCLUDEandEXCLUDEentries in GNS group definitions causes unexpected behavior. - Devices that are initially
INCLUDEd, thenEXCLUDEd, and laterre-INCLUDEddo not appear in ResourcePak BaseSTATICandDYNAMICGNS groups. - This occurs because GNS processes all
INCLUDEstatements first, followed by allEXCLUDEstatements, and does not support reinclusion of previously excluded devices.
Cause
GNS does not support reincluding devices once they have been excluded, due to its strict
INCLUDE-then-EXCLUDE processing logic.Resolution
- To ensure proper device inclusion in ResourcePak Base GNS groups, list all
INCLUDEstatements first, followed by allEXCLUDEstatements. - Do not attempt to
re-INCLUDEany device that has already beenEXCLUDEd, as GNS does not support reinclusion.
